SUBMARINERS ASSOCIATION REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY NOVEMBER 2020
It is with great reluctance and regret that it is confirmed that the planned Submariners Association Remembrance Ceremony in the Middle Temple Gardens on Sunday 1st November has been cancelled. This decision has been taken by the NMC owing to current Government COVID 19 restrictions on large gatherings and to comply with the ‘Rule of Six’ Guidance.
However, to ensure that a meaningful Submariner’s Remembrance Ceremony can take place, a Plan “B” has been devised (see below) to comply with the current Rules and ensure that we can pay meaningful respects to our fallen. The Plan “B” Option will take place at the Embankment Memorial and will be the Official Ceremony.
It is appreciated that Branches and Individuals will be very disappointed and, that some may wish to pay their own respects and lay Wreaths at the Embankment Memorial. However, this will not form any part of the ‘Official Ceremony’ and must be a personal decision. It is respectfully requested that any other such Wreath Laying is carried out after the ‘Official Ceremony’ has been completed and that current Government Guidance and ‘Social Distancing’ Rules are observed at all times.
Please also note that those who applied for and received Tickets for the Remembrance Ceremony at Temple Gardens are advised that those Tickets are no longer valid.
