Searching for the bell of AMPHION

From David Southwood

My Dad, Captain Gerry Southwood, CBE, DSC, RN, spent three years in HMS Regent operating from Malta in WW2. He then stood by HMS Amphion while she was being built in Barrow where I was born in 1944. He sailed in her under the command of her first captain, Commander Dewhurst. I was christened in the ship’s bell. Do you know where the bell might be now?

It was still with AMPHION in 66/67 when I commanded her in the Far East. My son Richard was christened in it. I think she paid off at Portsnouth in 68. I thought Lynch Maydon commissioned her in Barrow in 44/5 according to the Ships Book
