Remembrance Garden Door – Update

Update – 21 Dec

Pictures showing the completed window now in the gallery below.

As reported in the Friends’ report of activities associated with the Museum Upgrade (available only to members here), Rear Admiral Frank Grenier CB FGE continues his work on the door between the John Fieldhouse Building and the Garden of Remembrance. Frank has been engraving glass for twenty years since retiring from the Royal Navy and has achieved international renown.

Frank Grenier’s work on the Memorial Door is now complete. Personally, I believe it is a stunning work, entirely suited to be a memorial to the sacrifice of our forebears. Frank has given the Museum a fine work that must be seen to be fully appreciated, and which will provide an excellent approach to the Area of Remembrance for years to come. The Friends should continue to encourage the Museum to ‘clean up’ the area outside the door so that Frank’s work, and the Cold War Memorial just outside, are displayed to better advantage.
